Thank You...

Sometimes life throws a big bowl of crap your way and you just need a laugh instead of weekly challenges. So, I thought I'd pay homage to Jimmy Fallon and his infamous "Thank You Cards" for a while.

Thank you... Summer.
For being there right when I need to sleep in late. every. single. day.

Thank you... Long hair.
For turning my drain into a chia pet every time I shower.

Thank you... Extra pillow.
For covering my husband's face at night while I read in bed.

Thank you... Poppytalk
For showing this gif that almost made me pee my pants.

Thank you... Tex-Mex.
For giving me a cheese that I can drink with a straw. (If you don't live in Texas, it's called queso and it's the shiz.)

What are you thankful for this week? xo

How I Wore It: Backpack Trend

Emma Dime is a cutie pie. There is no doubt about that. Those curls. That effortless style. I love it. All of it. And when I saw the cute image above of her rockin' a slouchy backpack... I swooned a little. Or a lot. Then while thrifting, I found this little leather bag of goodness for $5.
In fact, this entire ensemble is thrifted... bag $5, grey tee gifted, skirt $2, earrings $7. I love my little slouchy thrifted backpack. It the perfect piece for summer; easy, casual and fits a lot of junk like goggles and sunscreen for all those last minute splashes in the pool!

What's your go to summer bag? xo
(PS - i'll be posting sporadically because I need a bit of normalcy in my routine and this feeds my soul.)

Around the House: A Little is Five

Even in the midst of great tragedy, life goes on and God has blessed me with a great reminder of my future. My youngest turned five last week. FIVE. Those five years happened in the blink of an eye. But that blink was filled with so much immense joy. This little of mine has me laughing until my sides hurt almost daily. And though he wipes off my kisses, he is full of love and mischief. He and my other boys are my future and my heart.
In honor of five, I found it necessary to make my little a flag of this great accomplishment (and if you knew how accident prone he is, you'd understand what I mean). We let this baby fly for a week and celebrated with family, friends, cupcakes and swimming.

Do you have any special traditions for birthdays? (I think this flag thing is a winner for us.) xo

TEN

Celebrating 10 wonderfully hard, rewarding and fun years with the hottest guy I know. Marriage requires work and laughter. It requires letting go of yourself to become a better self; one yoked with another. Two becoming one flesh. For better or for worse. And there is no one I'd rather share life with than this guy. He makes me a better person and I make him a funnier one. Ha ha ha.

Go and hug your loved ones today. For no reason at all. xo

Love and Loss

My heart is heavy as I write this... Yesterday, my Dad passed away due to complications brought on by Leukemia. He is now home with our amazing Lord and Savior. I'll be writing on this beloved blog of mine soon, but am taking a break to grieve and love on my family during this difficult time. I thank you all for your support of this little blog of mine and prayers for my family. xo

Sing for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! Burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have compassion on them in their suffering. Isaiah 49: 13
